Finally! A Technique for Penis “Enlargement” that May Actually Work

Filed under: Steve's Blog — dr steve @ 9:02 pm

From BodyODD:

“Package deal: Injections make penis grow, study finds

By Dr. Tony Youn

Does penis size matter?

A group of researchers from Korea University apparently believes it does, considering they discovered a way to make it happen

They recently published a study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine that analyzed how injections of a hyaluronic acid filler (Restylane Sub-Q) could increase penile girth.  These physicians injected an average of 20.5 cc (about  two-thirds of a medicine cup) using “a back-and-forth technique” into the deep soft tissue layers of the penises of 50 men.  The product was then ‘homogenized with a roller.’

The men’s penises had an average increase in circumference (girth) of 4 cm, which was maintained 18 months later.  They also assessed the patient and partner’s satisfaction with the treatment and found an average score of 3.3 (rated from 0-4) at 18 months.   Sounds like a nice result, right?  Keep in mind these patients underwent injections into their penises with relatively hefty needles.  Ouch.”

Commentary by your old pal Dr Steve:

Restylane is a filler that is usually used on the face to erase lines.  It’s a non-toxic gel and puffs up the skin it is injected into.  So these researchers figured, “if it’ll puff up some skank’s face, why not some dude’s schlong?”  People who have Restylane injected into their face report noticeable results for up to 18 months, so this treatment should be long-lasting.

Remember, though, this treatment does nothing for length, only for girth.  But I think most receivers, given the choice, would choose girth over length anyway.  Done by a bad practitioner, one can end up with a lumpy mess, just as this poor patient did:

I can imagine some people will go for the “ribbed” effect and other interesting configurations.  I would be willing to bet that a flaccid penis that has been treated with filler would look rather odd.

More on this story as I get more information.  In the meantime, if any of you try this, let us know how it goes at 347 POO HEAD ASAP!

I’m hoping we’ll start to do podcasts again;  I’m just looking for sponsors so I can pay for GVAC’s gas (he drives 2 hours to do the show) and help support the rest of the crew.  Stay tuned!

Don’t forget to check out the Weird Medicine Drug Store where you can buy this MANGROOMER on sale!

The CALL OF DOODY Weird Medicine Mug at Cafe Press has been selling like crazy.  You people are weird, but I love you.

Until next time, I remain

Missing Patrice O’Neal

Filed under: Steve's Blog — dr steve @ 10:23 am

From Weird Medicine (Excerpted for the Patrice Tribute this weekend on Sirius 206, XM105):

“As I write this, I just got word that Patrice O’Neal has passed away.

I met Patrice at Opie’s wedding and the first thing I noticed about him was just what a sweet guy he was.   ‘Sure Doctor Steve, I’ll do your little show’…I always thought we had all the time in the world to have that conversation on the air about Diabetes and being in show business.  Lesson learned.

Patrice was a big hearted guy;  Chest Pain Rob reminded me today that when O&A had that mentally handicapped guy who worked at McDonalds on the air and they pretended to be McDonald’s executives and fired him on the air, it was Patrice who begged them to call him back and let him know it was a joke.  He just couldn’t stand some little guy in Podunk thinking he lost his job, even for the few minutes it would take for him to figure it out.

Patrice lived life on his own terms and then he checked out.   He was one of the funniest and best loved people who ever crossed the airways on Sirius XM.  Weird Medicine salutes the memory of Patrice O’Neal, what he stood for, and we will sorely miss him.”

Patrice’s care was insanely expensive;  if you’d like to help Patrice’s wife and daughter, please consider buying the Audible.com 16 hour special produced by Erik Nagel from the Opie and Anthony show, or by buying Patrice’s last CD “Mister P” from Amazon or iTunes.

Filed under: Steve's Blog — dr steve @ 10:04 pm

Well, we made the mistake of going to a Beer Fest and carried the party to the house afterward.  Then someone said “hey!  Let’s do a show!”  See if you can tell whether some people (certainly not me) were impaired during the taping of this podcast.

Tonight’s topics:

3) The connection between your belly button and your genitals
4) The causes of dry mouth
5) A guy bleeding from both ends
6) e cigarettes and smoking cessation
7) Weird Chantix Dreams

and a bunch of other malarkey.

We were featured in the Stitcher.com weekly newsletter this week and this is the best we could do?  Doomed.

Don’t forget to check us out on your smart phone on Stitcher (the greatest talk radio app ever) and iTunes (a close second).  Also, don’t miss the Dr Steve BRISTOL STOOL SCALE MUG at Cafepress!  It’s a “hoot” I tell ya!

Please update your RSS feed!

Filed under: Steve's Blog — dr steve @ 5:55 pm

In an attempt to get control of our RSS feed, we’re moving everyone from the old feed to:

feeds.feedburner.com/doctorsteve/ZPQj

The reasons for this are complicated, but suffice it to say that a certain webpage producer lost the password to our old feed and we may have thousands of people following that feed without any documentation of it.  This will ultimately affect our ability to sell advertising on the Weird Medicine Addendum Podcast and keep new content on the feed.  If you are getting this message through an RSS feed, email update, google reader, whatever, please click the link above and switch over to this new feed.  In the end we may have to just start anew at weirdmedicine.com;  when all this started we had no idea that feeds and iTunes stats and stuff would be so important.

Thanks for your help!  Also, we’re doing a new “girly show” (my wife’s term) tomorrow night with lots of talk about plastic surgery and breast implants and more breast talk and lots of talk and thinking about breasts and also breasts.  It’ll air sometime in September and if we have time we’ll do a quick spur-of-the-moment podcast so stay tuned.

your pal,

Dr Steve

Weird Medicine August 11 2011 LIVE Podcast Part 1

Filed under: Steve's Blog — dr steve @ 11:24 pm

Weird Medicine Addendum returns, now on Stitcher and iTunes.  If you haven’t checked out Stitcher yet, it’s a really cool on-demand radio service for your smart phone.  The app has low-overhead and there’s virtually NO lag unless you just have a crappy connection.   After you listen to Weird Medicine, check out The Joe Rogan Experience and other cool stuff.

I’m breaking this show into two 30 minute podcasts just to see if people like it better in small chunks.  I still have such a low self-esteem that I can’t imagine anyone would want to listen to AN HOUR of this malarkey.

Topics:

Apple Cider Vinegar: Panacea or BS?
Rosacea
Trucking James with some crap I can’t remember
The best treatment for allergies
Adderall and sexual dysfunction
Lubricants
Underbelly rot (also known as “intertrigo”)
Stupid doctors
Toxoplasmosis
Fibromyalgia
Weight Gain after smoking

Enjoy!  Check out both parts, available now!

Also check out our store and our dumb merchandise!  All profits go to a terrible cause.

August 5 2011 Podcast

This was our second attempt at a LIVE show from the Weird Medicine studios and our first try with our own Ustream channel. Thanks to Anthony Cumia’s retweet on twitter, we set all kinds of records for listeners this night…a feat we’ll not repeat soon (unless we can convince Ant to retweet us again when we’re on).

The weird thing about this is that I was actually nervous going into this.  Knowing that there are real, live people listening and wanting to interact with us is way different than answering voicemails and doing a show to 4 people in the studio.  That someone will actually listen later to the show seems almost theoretical.  Doing it live is a different beast, but it is very exciting and extremely fun.

We’re ironing out the kinks…we’ll get better at this whole live podcast thing, I promise.

your pal,

Steve

(Check out the new Weird Medicine Shot Glasses at Cafe Press.  I bought 7.  Perhaps we’ll figure out a way to give a few away in the next week or so.  Stay tuned!)

Weird Medicine Behind the Scenes Live show

After we did the 30 minute podcast, the Ustream listeners wanted to get involved so we experimented with taking some LIVE calls. It actually went better than I thought and we talked about gout and some other stuff and even got a call from Lady Trucker (who stumped us).

WE WILL GET BETTER AT THIS. The technology for taking live calls and streaming live isn’t new, but it’s new to us. We had a blast interacting with our friends online, though, and will do a lot more of this as time goes on.

So glitches and all, this is the first Live Weird Medicine from the Weird Medicine studios in downtown weirdmedicineville.

Weird Medicine Addendum July 30 2011

Filed under: Steve's Blog — dr steve @ 10:41 pm

This is the first WM Addendum that we’ve done in over a year and it really, really showed. New things: live internet audience on Ustream (go to our homepage for more information) which was a LOT of fun. This was a straight-to-podcast 30 minute show and when we got done people were weirdly clamoring for more (as if what we did here wasn’t bad enough) so we did another 30 minutes taking live calls via Skype. That show will post just after this one.

For potential advertisers: This show is not indicative of the quality we will eventually expect from the podcast. We’re pretty good at putting together a radio show for broadcast, but this internet thing is a whole ‘nother beast. It’ll come together soon though, and I’ll quit trying to lower expectations soon.

Double Vasectomy Todd’s new job will be to keep track of topics as we talk about them so I can post them here. Working on that too.

Your pal,

Steve

Trevor W from Canada: “The Dr Steve AHHHHHH Song”

It is well known that I am hobbled by horrid vocal crutches. These came on late in life when I decided that I couldn’t utter something unless I “knew” it was “correct” (it’s a form of OCD) and my dumb brain is constantly searching for words that ensure that I’m not making statements beyond my knowledge. While my brain is frantically searching for the “right” words, my stupid mouth just opens up and “ahhhhhh” comes out along with “so anyway” and a few other annoying nuggets.

I’m pretty sure Trevor W got this from ONE show, and probably ONE answer to ONE question. It’s really quite embarrassing, but the boyz in studio got a kick out of making fun of me for a change. Now you can, too, thanks to the magic of feedburner and iTunes!

Enjoy!

your pal,

Steve
